Matthew:
Timebank went into development independent of the Bace Tech Team on July 2, 2015.
The existing Tech Team may or may not find another web developer, however as timebank members and part of a democratic structured group, we have the right to develop the timebank openly amongst the membership, without approval from one or two people, and call the issue to a vote when the time comes.
Happy to answer any and all questions.
Question 1:
Hi Matthew:Thank you for your help. Please talk about your programming expertise and past experience. Please talk about you reasons for creating a new time-bank. Please explain everything you need from the committee and BACE community in order to create a time-bank with our old information. Also, can you create a time-bank that lets us list one set of categories for members' skills and another set for the members' needs? Lastly, can you create categories for groups, such as neighborhoods?

Why Build A New Timebank?
An ad was posted on the the BACE Blog, "Help Needed! Web Developer To Save BACE", to which my partner Misty and I responded to by attending a BACE meeting and volunteering our services. The site that was currently up for BACE had an expiration date of Mid June '15 before the code stopped working and the site shut down. As you can see, that happened. Tom, the previous developer of the software, informed BACE several years ago about the issue and encouraged the team to fix the problem before it resulted in the site shutting down. After attending the initial meeting, A Tech Team was formed and we started meeting and discussing plans for the replacement.
What does the "Get Stuff Done Team" want from the committee?
1.) We want the Timebank committee to endorse this as their choice over the other software.
2.) We want to an impartial source to take minutes at meetings and share them with the whole group.
3.) We want the Group to take back control of the messaging going out to the Group.
4.) We want access to the bace.org domain name and the ability to point it to the project without interference.
5.) We want access to the live site without interference as we are building a site for timebank.
What can we ask for in the new Timebank?
Anything and everything. It's the whole point of the group selecting a tech team to represent their interest. Not every request can be granted, some with be in opposition with one another and require a decision. The Group should feel confident that their interests are being represented by the team they selected,

The Neighborhood is present and accessible through the profile. All people that live in your city are classified as Neighbors.
ReplyDeleteI will implement your request for categories, I think it's excellent input.
